Southwest Greens Vancouver (Second Generation Landscapes), along with parent company Shaw Industries, announces the implementation of a patented HydroChill™ pre-coated infill. The new pre-coated product builds upon the success of HydroChill™ Home, an advanced cooling system released in October 2013. Made to protect against the heat on artificial turf and landscape surfaces, HydroChill is the first heat reduction innovation of its kind and one of the sole solutions in the business to result in considerable and sustained temperature differences.
Although results will vary due to geographic location and local factors such as cloud cover, humidity and wind fluctuations, HydroChill Home has achieved 30°F to 50°F lower surface temperatures compared to a standard synthetic lawn surface when measured by an infrared thermometer. The technology is applied to a artificial lawn and, when sprayed with water, removes heat from the turf system leaving a cooler, more comfortable surface. The cooling effect of HydroChill Home after rainfall or watering can keep working for days depending on local conditions and is most dramatic when surface temperatures are hottest. HydroChill is most impactful when the sun is closest to the earth’s surface resulting in temperature differences of 50 degrees in real world, third party validated outdoor tests.
